Development Note: GPT-Researcher Integration & Roadmap Update (May 11, 2025)
Integrating GPT-Researcher into Chat with Fundamentals and outlining the roadmap for CWF and QCFS.
The Chat with Fundamentals app has been expanded with a powerful new feature: Deep Research, powered by GPT-Researcher.
On the main page, the research experience remains grounded exclusively in EODHD data sources — fundamentals, EOD price history, and news — providing a fast and structured overview of individual equities. But a separate Deep Research page is now available for beta testing, enabling long-form, multi-source analysis driven by GPT-Researcher’s recursive exploration engine.
This deep search mode moves well beyond the scope of my original QuantAgents prototype and effectively replaces its planned workflow. GPT-Researcher is simply more advanced than what I could feasibly build alone, so I’ve adopted it directly into the platform.
To use the full app, users will need API keys for:
EODHD (equity data)
OpenAI (LLM-powered reasoning)
Tavily (web search – free tier available)
A dedicated configuration file manages the analysis persona and traits, which will be shared across both Chat with Fundamentals (CWF) and QuantCoderFS (QCFS). This paves the way for deep research integration within strategy development flows as well.
I expect to push this feature to GitHub within a week. Going forward, development will focus on:
Extending the analytics layer of CWF
Improving the coding flow in QCFS
Still, both apps already deliver meaningful value in their current state — helping streamline quantitative workflows while also producing tangible research that highlights the most useful areas for improvement.
